It's book review day + we are still on spring break (insert happy dance here)!
This month I read 7 books and started my 8th! I have spring break to thank for the extra time that allowed me to read a few more books than normal. If I'm being honest, I was super disappointed in the books I read this month. More than once, I found myself skimming through the words on the pages trying to get finished because I just wasn't engaged in them. I hate when I feel like I can't find a book I enjoy and this was definitely one of those months. Luckily, I ended March with a few good books and I'm hoping I find some great ones in April! See below for the books I read this month! Enjoy!
All Summer Long
I honestly had no idea what was ever going on in this book. There were so many characters and plot lines and I was lost and desperately wished it would end almost the entire time I was reading. I felt like a story would get started but it was never fully developed and I was just really disappointed.
This was another book that I had a hard time getting in to. Her stories from the weddings she's attended did make me laugh at times, but I had a hard time staying focused and I skipped over a lot of the words just to get it finished. I would probably recommend it as a beach read because you don't have to pay very close attention to understand what is going on because the stories don't really build on each other.
I had mixed feelings about this book. It was full of twists and turns that I did not see coming but it was wordy and I found myself getting bored at places. I wasn't a huge fan of how the ending turned out and it was just an alright book for me.
This book was creepy and I definitely do not recommend reading it at night. I had trouble falling asleep a few times. I felt like the book kind of moved at a slow pace but the ending was unexpected and I think that kind of saved it.
I'm going to be honest, I started to read this book on two separate occasions and had to stop. I was so distraught by what this poor girl went through and I just kept imagining my own babies in her position. I couldn't do it. It took a couple of weeks before I got the nerve to start reading and I'm glad I did. As horrifying as her story is, it is also about how good God is and it was a great reminder of how much he loves us. I would definitely recommend this one to read!
I read this book after reading the one above and it was a cute and funny story after such a heavy one. I enjoyed how the characters played out and I thought the ending was perfect with how the story unfolded. I especially liked it because I didn't have nightmares about it or get spooked when I read it at night. Sometimes you just need an easy read after a few dark ones.
I've never read a Colleen Hoover book that I didn't enjoy and this one definitely did not disappoint. It had a different feel to it than the others I've read but I was sad when it ended. If I could only read her books for the rest of my life, I'm pretty sure I would be completely fine with that! This was my favorite book of the month and if you are going to pick only one to check out, this one needs to be it!
Hopefully you found some new ones above for you to read in April! I recently started following Reese Witherspoon's Book Club on Instagram and I see a lot of books to add to my list! Please comment with your suggestions on what I need to be reading next month!

Kylie
